Mountain Shadows International Montessori School is seeking a professional, flexible, and team-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our dedicated staff. Located on a beautiful, nature-rich campus in Boulder County, we serve children ages 12 months through 12 years in an authentic Montessori environment that values independence, curiosity, and connection.This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a passionate educational team while also helping manage key administrative and operational tasks that support the entire school community.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the welcoming presence in the front office - greeting families, staff, and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and a consistently positive attitude
- Assist with registrar responsibilities including enrollment, maintaining student records, and supporting clear, timely communication with families
- Help ensure school licensing documentation is accurate and up-to-date, supporting compliance with state and local regulations
- Coordinate school operations including scheduling, internal communications, and logistical support across teams
- Flexibly support in classrooms as needed, stepping in to assist guides and children from toddler through elementary
- Provide lunch breaks for classroom teachers and assistants on a regular basis and/or as needed to maintain smooth daily operations
- Assist with event planning and coordination, including parent education nights, staff celebrations, and community events
- Offer reliable, professional support to the Senior Leadership Team and Director of Operations, helping to keep schoolwide systems running smoothly
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a respectful, mission-aligned, and child-centered school environment
Qualifications:
- Friendly, approachable demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, Forms) and general computer literacy
- Comfort learning and navigating school-specific software platforms (e.g., Transparent Classroom, student information systems, digital sign-in systems)
- Ability to maintain accurate digital and physical records, manage confidential information, and support school communications
- Ability to obtain required state credentials to work in a licensed childcare facility, including: Colorado Shines PDIS registration, background check and fingerprint clearance, and required training in standard health and safety practices (can be completed upon hire)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in administration, education, or a related field (preferred)
- Prior administrative experience or training
- Knowledge of or passion for Montessori education (preferred)
- A flexible, proactive mindset and strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
- High level of professionalism and a warm, respectful presence in interactions with children, staff, and families
