About the Role
As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records electronically through a web portal.
- Perform a focused, in-person physical exam on each Veteran.
- Document exam findings electronically through the web portal.
The position does not involve making disability determinations, as this responsibility lies with the United States Veterans Administration. Your role is limited to performing Disability Assessments on Veterans and does not include treating or prescribing medication.
Attributes and Requirements
- You must be interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments.
- You should be able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions.
- You need to be skilled in time management and able to stay on task to meet requirements.
- You must be proficient in using a computer.
- You must hold a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NCCPA accredited) license.
- You must meet the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA.
