Intern, Customer Solutions

BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY :

MSC’s internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Gains industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
• Rotates through various roles within the Customer Solutions team, learning, observing, and assisting associates currently performing those functions.
• Learns MSC's products, services, solutions processes, and culture.
• Analyzes, writes, maintains, and presents data utilizing Excel or other data visualization tools to support decision making process.
• Develops skills needed for career in industrial distribution.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of how Solutions team utilizes technology to improve overall effectiveness with mobile applications.
• Develops skills needed for a career in industrial distribution.
• Supports assigned business manager with project work.
• Presents intern project results to business leaders.
• Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
• Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
