Job Description:
Role Purpose/Position Summary:
The Asset Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing procurement activities, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and managing company assets efficiently for the Equipment Service Center (ESC). This role ensures that purchasing processes are cost-effective, inventory is optimized, and assets are tracked and maintained properly to support operational needs.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Human and Food Safety:
- Prioritize human and food safety at all times.
Purchasing & Procurement:
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and supplies based on site business needs.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to optimize cost savings.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Coordinate with finance and site leader for invoice approvals and budget alignment.
Central Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Implement inventory control policies and procedures to enhance accuracy.
- Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to reconcile records.
- Utilize inventory management software to track stock movement and usage.
- Work closely with site operations team to streamline inventory flow and ensure project timelines are met.
- Apply a continuous improvement mindset in all inventory management tasks.
Asset Management:
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of site assets, including equipment, property, and infrastructure.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of asset status, including maintenance records, documentation, and ownership transfers.
- Coordinate asset shipping, receiving, and site transfer system updates.
- Conduct periodic audits to verify asset location and condition.
- Proactively identify and address issues related to asset management.
Qualifications/Capability Profile
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or asset management.
- Experience in supply chain or purchasing within a food packaging manufacturer environment is preferred.
Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in inventory management and procurement software.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of asset tracking tools and best practices.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently while incorporating feedback and guidance as needed.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and sites.
- Familiarity with financial reporting related to inventory and asset management.
- Ability to demonstrate strong empathy and listening skills to ensure safety protocols are understood and followed.
