Role and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs accounts payable and general cost accounting related duties for the organization.
- Codes and processes high volume of invoices, verifies expense reports, sets up new vendors/updates existing vendors, reconciles vendor account statements.
- Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable utilizing a third-party payment processor and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Resolves any payment discrepancies or issues that may arise.
- Actively works with team to manage AP email inbox.
- Maintain current certificates of insurance (COIs)for subcontractors and vendors, review COIs for appropriate coverage, and request updated COIs upon expiration of existing copy.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, accounting regulations, and financial controls
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least three years of Accounts Payable experience required, with construction or HVAC service industry experience preferred.
- Experience working with financial software and ERP systems, Viewpoint Vista preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize daily tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Bachelors degree in accounting is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work full time in an office environment.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
