Candidate will rotate through all front of house positions to learn all aspects of operation.
Job Duties Include
- Oversee cash handing operations and compliance to state and federal laws for safe food handling and alcohol consumption
- Help overseeing daily operations of front of house including opening and closing procedures to ensure seamless guest satisfaction from arrival to departure
- Maintaining and upholding service standards
- Coordinating with manager, kitchen, and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages
- Handling guest inquiries, complaints, and emergencies with professionalism
- Assist with inventory of beer, wine, and liquor
- Strive to provide unforgettable guest expectations and cultivating lasting relationships with our patrons
- Help management in assisting in strategies to enhance overall guest experience
- Assist with special event dinners and holiday dinners
- Oversee a team of MSU student staff helping ensure we provide excellent customer service
- Provide training and guidance to new staff members
- Monitor performance and give feedback
- Make sure all service standards and policies are being kept
- Providing leadership and motivation to insure positive environment and culture of team
Hourly Wage: $16.00
Location: State Room Restaurant
Required Qualifications
- MSU student
- Commitment to outstanding customer service
- Must be Positive and respectful especially when working with diverse population
- Strong leadership skills
- Organizational skill
- Self-starter enthusiastic and driven to achieve excellence
- Creative thinker and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to providing outstanding guest service and a passion for hospitality
- Ability to handle stress under pressure
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in hospitality customer experience, 1 year minimum preferred restaurant experience
- Hospitality Business majors preferred.
- Wine knowledge.

Physical Demands
- Be able to lift / move up to 40 pounds
- Walk stand long period of times
- Reaching, bending, twisting, stooping pushing and pulling
- Lifting overhead
- Working in warm and cool temperatures
- 20 hours per week minimum
- Must be able to work weekdays and weekends, football games, some holidays (Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day), varying times, mornings and evenings.
