The Mt Lebanon Extended Day Program provides care before and after school in the Mt Lebanon Elementary Schools. Hours are 6:45am-9am and 2:45pm-6:30pm, OR PART TIME ONLY AFTERNOONS (2:45pm-6:30pm) with schedule flexibility in the summer. As a member of our Mt Lebanon Extended Day staff, you will focus on the social/emotional learning of children in grades K-5 and you can expect to:
· Create a safe and FUN (friendly, understanding and nurturing) environment for school age children
- Work in a collaborative and inclusive environment with a team who values open communication, new ideas, continuous quality improvement and mutual respect
- Receive ongoing feedback, mentoring, and professional development
Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Set up for daily scheduled activities
- Assist children with homework assignments
- Facilitate STEAM clubs and activities, art projects and gym/playground games for a group of up to 12 children
- Foster positive interactions among children
In addition to the above responsibilities an ideal candidate will:
- Have a passion for working with school-age children
- 1-2 years experience working with children
- High School Diploma, CDA, associates degree or Bachelors degree preferred
