We have an opening for an Industrial Electrician for Day Shift .
Summary
Maintains, evaluates and repairs electrical and control systems for production equipment and facilities. Assists with and installs new electrical services for new equipment and plant rearrangement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains, evaluates and repairs electrical and control systems for production equipment and facilities.
Assists with and installs new electrical services for new equipment and plant rearrangement.
Performs preventive maintenance and rebuild tasks on production equipment and site facilities.
Works both independently and as part of a team to quickly diagnose down equipment and complete repairs to bring equipment back into production.
Works within cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Receives written instructions for work orders, work requests, machinery diagrams and blueprints, and verbal instructions from supervisor on the above job tasks.
Uses personal computer in some job tasks, primarily in machine troubleshooting.
Performs other duties as directed by supervisor, superintendent and director.

Hand tools, air and electrical tools, personal computer, PLC’s motor controls, circuit protectors, drives, PID / setpoint controls, industrial instrumentation, HMI / OIT’s, vision systems, industrial sensors.

Requirements :
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience as an electrician within an industrial or heavy commercial environment. Experience in high volume process-based manufacturing a plus. Strong working knowledge of high and low voltage power, three-phase systems, motor controls and main circuit / branch circuit protection. Solid working knowledge of PLC’s, drives, PID / setpoint controls, industrial instrumentation, HMI / OIT’s, vision systems and industrial sensors. Experience with robotics a plus. Knowledge of personal computer and various software programs. Experience with PLC and HMI / OIT program modifications a plus. Strong equipment maintenance background needed. Machine shop skills a plus. Well-honed interpersonal skills with strong team working ability. Community college maintenance certificate or AS degree in an industrial field a plus.
Physical Demands
Climbing : Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and / or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

Pushing : Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Pulling : Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.

The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as : operates machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
Work Environment
Works inside and outside, subject to wide seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from rain and some job tasks. Fumes from syrup room, hot pepper, forklifts, lime and sour water. Distracting noise in some areas. Protective equipment such as hardhat, ear protection, safety glasses, safety belts, and gloves required based on work site and job task. Steel toed footwear required.
