This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of trailer assembly and final production, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety while fostering a collaborative and productive team culture.

- Rate: $65,000 - $67,000/annually (Salary)
- Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of trailer assembly employees, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Train and onboard new team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to succeed.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Promote open communication, employee engagement, and teamwork to drive department success.
- Monitor production activities and provide hands-on guidance to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Troubleshoot assembly challenges and recommend solutions in real-time.
- Work with cross-functional teams and outside vendors to ensure material availability and production continuity.
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards and adhere to industry regulations.
- Conduct final inspections, verify specifications, and address any defects or rework issues.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Review and schedule weekly production, ensuring alignment with deadlines and order specifications.
- Accurately review, edit, and approve employee timecards.
- Manage and maintain documentation, schematics, and work instructions for production processes.
- Safely operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and cranes as needed to support daily operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
This position directly manages employees on all trailer assembly lines and is responsible for:
- Workforce planning, scheduling, and assignments
- Employee performance management (coaching, recognition, and discipline)
- Ensuring compliance with safety and quality policies
- Resolving conflicts and fostering a strong team dynamic
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or trailer production environment, or 3-5 years of experience in a department lead role with proven leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience in electro-mechanical assembly, production supervision, or final inspection.
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Hands-on experience working in a high-paced, evolving production setting.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
- Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Aerial Lift/Crane Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Work is performed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting and moving of up to 50 lbs.
- Regular use of hands and arms for handling tools and materials.
- Exposure to loud noise levels, requiring hearing protection.
- Potential exposure to industrial chemicals such as hydraulic fluid, gas, diesel fuel, and cleaning agents.
