Job Summary: The AR Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting the Senior Accountant with day-to-day accounts receivable functions.
Pay for this Role: $18.00 - $20.00 depending on experience.
- Assist OSRs and store managers with AR questions by phone, email, or in person.
- Process incoming payments and post to accounts.
- Post payments to accounts that are stored in the Browser.
- Post store use invoices.
- Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed.
- Create reports and balance sheets that document overall profits and losses.
- Update client accounts based on payment or contact information.
- Assist customers with questions or payments by phone and in person.
- Review credit applications from customers and set up new accounts.
- Set up new sub-job accounts as requested by customers and OSRs.
- Send reminder letters on past due accounts and/or contact customers for payments.
- Communicate with previous clients and customers to request payment and arrange payment plans.
- Collect payment from customers and accurately record it into the system.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- One year or more of relative experience preferred.
- Ability to analyze technical problems, determine root causes and develop remediation strategies for permanent resolutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to recommend changes to drive business objectives.
- Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, making clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Skilled with computers and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to demonstrate a friendly outgoing personality and interact with others.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Skilled in or ability to learn 10-key.
