Job Description Summary
The Human Resources team at MUSC Orangeburg is seeking an Employee Relations Consultant, who will provide entry-level guidance to leadership and care team members regarding employee relations matters, including routine corrective actions and serve as a consultant to the Director on additional matters. This is an exciting opportunity to join an effective and highly-regarded team in a role that will directly impact the ~1400 employees in the facility.
The ideal candidate will bring creative ideas to guide leaders and positively impact the employee lifecycle, directly contributing to employee engagement and satisfaction. The selected candidate will also serve as a member of the leave administration team, and apply organizational policies and applicable federal and state laws or regulations on matters related to HIPAA, ADA, FMLA and other applicable regulations.
The selected candidate will also provide mediation and conflict resolution as needed, and work collaboratively with appropriate external partners including but not limited to Quality, Compliance, Office of General Counsel (Legal), and Diversity Equity & Inclusion on specific matters and training.

Education and Work Experience :
- HS diploma and 6 years in an administrative or HR position, and / or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and 2 years in an administrative or HR position.
- Basic knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Strong communication and customer service skills

Physical Requirements :
Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands / wrists / elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20 / 40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift and / or carry objects weighing 20 lbs ( / ) unassisted. Lift from 36" to overhead 15 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined / cramped spaces.
