Responsibilities
- Engage in coaching cycles to support effective strategies and routines aligned with conditions for learning and standards-based instructional practices.
- Engage in coaching cycles with teachers (including pre and post observation conferences) to provide feedback and improve instructional practice.
- Model or co-teach lessons to facilitate job-embedded professional development
- Coach and support teachers to implement standards-based planning.
- Collaborate with building principals to develop, implement and monitor a building professional development plan.
- Design and facilitate professional development in accordance with the Iowa Professional Development Model
- Plan and deliver professional learning activities designed to improve knowledge of instructional strategies in support of the BPDP.
- Serve as a model of exemplary teaching practice
- Exhibit behaviors that demonstrate high expectations for each student to achieve academic success.
- Promote teacher leadership and a culture of collaboration.
- Continually deepen knowledge in content (subject area) and classroom instructional strategies (pedagogy).
- Formulate action plans collaboratively to facilitate instructional improvement.
- Develop and support the integration of technology in content areas and build teacher capacity
Selection and Evaluation
- Selection Process: Interested candidates will complete an application on-line and upload a current resume. Potential candidates will be contacted for a face-to-face interview.
- This position will be evaluated annually using Iowa Teaching Standards. This position will not have a term limit and will be continued from year-to-year pending annual performance evaluation.
