ABOUT THE JOB: The Music Box is seeking a strong Floor Manager interested in playing a prominent role in the day to day operations of one of most prestigious concert, restaurant and event spaces in the country.
This is a unique opportunity for a sharp, reliable, experienced individual to elevate their game. We seek a tactical, logistical thinker who will report to the General Manager, but will collaborate with people across the organization. The primary focus of this opportunity will be managing private events. However, it will also focus on increasing restaurant sales during concerts.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
At least 4 years experience in either the restaurant or private events industry helping to run a large, profitable restaurant or events operation, one that generates a high percentage of its revenue from private events including weddings.
Strong background in managing private events. Direct experience managing/producing Weddings is a big plus.
Excellent computer skills. Expert level skills with POS systems, Open Table, email, and Microsoft Office. Must have ability to become a master of our operating systems.
Outstanding personal leadership skills – someone who will set the proper tone and maintain all operating standards from greeting customers warmly to choosing background music to addressing customer complaints promptly and with a friendly, accommodating manner.
Must be able to ensure the entire operation complies with all food and health safety regulations and building codes. Remain up-to-date on changes on these important issues.
Must be focused on maintaining the entire venue at the highest standards for Quality and Cleanliness.
Ability to hire high quality people who are trained, motivated, and empowered to deliver an exceptionally high level of customer satisfaction. Ensure our personnel practices are within the law and consistent with our policies and procedures.
Continuously improve the skills, knowledge and morale of all employees. Treat all the employees with dignity and respect; creating an environment where the entire team does the same. Make tough decisions regarding all performance related issues and address poor performance.
Day-to-day roles will vary based on the events of the day. This includes, but is not limited to: restaurant managing, leading pre-shift meetings with FOH staff, setting assignments and overseeing FOH staff, touching tables to ensure guests are well taken care of, communicating with event clients/hosts, and supervising service and staff during events.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
College Degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience:
4 or more years in the restaurant or private events industry, in wide range of large full-service operations that had a significant percentage of their business generated from Private Events.
License and Insurance:
Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
Accessibility:
Must have a cell phone and be accessible/responsive 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Maintain an open-door policy via phone, text, and email.
Hours/Physical:
Able to work a minimum of 45 hours per week, more when necessary. Able to work flexible hours necessary to manage the operation effectively. Physical requirements include ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
COMP PLAN: The Comp Plan is combination base salary plus bonus in the range of $55,000, as well as some other great benefits and fun perks.
