Job Summary
The Direct Care Worker plays a crucial role in providing compassionate support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and home health environments. This position involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life by assisting with daily activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to promote their well-being.
- Monitor clients’ health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Participate in training sessions, including CPR certification, to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to client care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a group home or home health setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of senior care practices and meal preparation techniques is advantageous.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client mobility support.
- Certification in CPR is a plus.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- must have APD , Fl. train certifcation ,Pass level ll and local background and High School diaploma
