Duties and Responsibilities

As the Business Consultant I, you will play a critical role in ensuring that we are able to fulfill this role by managing business operations for the assigned regions or operational areas. This work will include serving as the first point of contact for any operational issues that need to be addressed and working with the Program Manager and Regional Administrators to provide solutions and monitor, coordinate and provide guidance for staffing, training, and other personnel actions and concerns. Monitoring, coordinating and providing guidance for procurement, budget and other fiscal actions and concerns.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to understand, interpret and apply a comprehensive knowledge of personnel, purchasing and other Department laws, agency policies and procedures, and best practices.

Ability to be solutions oriented with the ability to use critical thinking, judgment and problem-solving techniques to effectively evaluate information and make sound decisions.

Possess excellent active listening, oral and written communication skills to include the ability to effectively articulate and convey information so that it is readily understandable.

An ability to effectively organize and manage a busy workload, be productive in an environment with regular interruptions, balance competing priorities, and meet designated timeframes without compromising accuracy, attention to detail or customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have professional work experience :

Experience researching and applying rules, regulations, policies or procedures; particularly those related to personnel, procurement and / or government agencies.

Experience analyzing data and preparing reports.

Experience evaluating documents or other information for accuracy and compliance.

Customer service experience.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint, as well as MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP).

General Information

The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and / or oral interview.

Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information / biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.

FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
