Duties and Responsibilities

The MS Business Consultant II position is a fast-paced professional position located in the Bureau of Records, Data Exchange Unit.  This position will be responsible for administering and monitoring the exchange of data and information through contracts/memorandum of understandings, auditing, and data work orders.  The incumbent will research inquiries, identify solutions, and interact with individuals in law enforcement, information systems, business entities and state and local governments, as well as the general public.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Database Management and Data exchange processes.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Adobe pro.
  • Proficiency in written, oral, visual and digital communication.
  • Skill in auditing, reviewing, or analyzing data for compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Skill in providing excellent customer service to a diverse group of individuals, including internal and external customers, the general public and law enforcement.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, statutes and rules.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data.
  • Ability to think critically to develop recommendations or solutions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have professional work experience:

  • Using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Writing correspondence including letters, memos and/ or reports.
  • Collecting and verifying data for accuracy and completion.
  • Data exchange processes.
  • Providing customer service.

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.  Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
