Job Summary:
My Girlfriend’s Quilt Shoppe Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a welcoming and organized environment. This role involves managing the sales team, maintaining inventory, handling customer inquiries, ensuring the shop meets sales goals, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors. The Store Manager must also have a passion for quilting and fabrics, demonstrating product knowledge and enthusiasm for the craft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management:
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of sales associates.
- Train and develop staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards.
- Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage during peak hours.
- Customer Service & Engagement:
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, assisting with fabric selections, and offering quilting advice.
- Build and maintain relationships with loyal customers and potential clients.
- Ensure that customers are greeted warmly and that their shopping experience is positive and educational.
- Sales & Financial Management:
- Drive store sales by promoting products, special offers, and store events.
- Meet and exceed sales goals while maintaining profitability.
- Monitor store expenses and assist in budgeting and cost control.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and displaying products.
- Track stock levels and place orders for new merchandise based on sales trends.
- Organize product displays to showcase quilts, fabrics, notions, and other merchandise in an attractive manner.
- Store Operations:
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Manage store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Engage with the local quilting community and build relationships with local quilters, crafters, and sewing groups.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2-3 years of retail management experience, ideally in a quilting, fabric, or craft-related store.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Passionate about quilting, fabrics, and related products with a solid understanding of the quilting industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage and retain customers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move boxes or fabric rolls (up to 50 lbs).
