Summer Camp Lead

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Summer Camp Lead to oversee a team of counselors in the afternoon, ensuring a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers. As a Summer Camp Lead, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating daily activities, events, field trips, and on-campus programming. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills who is passionate about working with children and creating positive experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Supervise and manage a team of counselors, ensuring they are prepared for their responsibilities and provide support throughout the day.
• Activity Coordination: Plan, prepare, and lead afternoon activities for campers, ensuring that all activities are age-appropriate and safe.
• Event Management: Organize and oversee camp events, including but not limited to field trips, guest presenters, and on-campus activities.
• Safety & Supervision: Maintain a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring the safety of all campers during activities and events.
• Communication: Act as a liaison between camp staff, campers, and parents, communicating key information, updates, and any concerns.
• Camp Spirit: Encourage enthusiasm and engagement from both campers and counselors, fostering a positive and energetic camp atmosphere.
• Administrative Support: Assist with daily camp check-ins, tracking camper attendance, and completing necessary paperwork.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in camp leadership or childcare is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and maintain a positive attitude throughout the camp season.
• Passion for working with children and creating a positive camp experience.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus (or willing to obtain before starting).
