Job Overview
The Vice President, Programs and Research will lead and oversee all aspects of MGFA’s advocacy initiatives, patient engagement programs, and public policy strategies, and MGFA’s research programs. As a member of the senior management team, the VP will play a crucial role in defining and implementing the organization’s overarching strategic direction, ensuring cross-functional alignment with other core areas such as development, marketing, and industry relations. Within MGFA’s budget of $5.6 million and positioned for continued growth, MGFA relies on the VP to spearhead initiatives that position the organization as the preeminent source for education and information, a thought-leader within the advocacy and policy arenas, and a convener for the medical community and other key stakeholders.

Duties
- Lead the planning and execution of programs to meet organizational objectives.
- Supervise and manage program teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with business goals and enhance program effectiveness.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders to drive sales and business development initiatives.
- Monitor program performance, utilizing profit-loss analysis to inform decision-making and improve processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices across all programs.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure alignment across departments.
Qualifications
Leadership Experience
- Proven track record in nonprofit leadership, ideally within a health advocacy or related field, with experience managing complex programs and leading organizational growth.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, lead, and develop teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and shared purpose.
- Experience in successfully leading cross-functional and remote teams, ensuring cohesive teamwork across various departments.
Strategic and Operational Expertise
- Strong background in strategic planning, program design, and implementation, with an emphasis on measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to emerging issues in healthcare policy and patient advocacy.
