Clinical Genomics Scientist II
Location: Remote

Myriad discovers and commercializes molecular diagnostic tests that: determine the risk of developing disease, accurately diagnose disease, assess the risk of disease progression, and guide treatment decisions across six major medical specialties where molecular diagnostics can significantly improve patient care and lower healthcare costs. As a member of our Clinical Genomics team you will work alongside other amazing genetic counselors and scientists to help analyze and interpret our patient data. You will hold an invaluable role in our organization and your work will directly impact the lives of thousands of patients. We offer the flexibility of working remotely or out of our corporate headquarters in South San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Review medical literature and public databases for the purposes of variant classification.
- Interpret variant specific information and provide detailed summaries.
- Work closely with our laboratory directors to classify variant pathogenicity.
- Prepare curation information and variant classification rationale for providers.
- Attend variant classification committee meetings.
- Serve as gene expert by maintaining up-to-date gene resources for use throughout the organization.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team curation projects.
- Work flexible hours, from a home-based remote office or at corporate HQ
Qualifications
- Hold a MS in Genetic Counseling, plus work experience OR hold a MS in a life science OR hold a PhD in Genetics or similar discipline.
- Ability to analyze experimental protein structures is preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with molecular visualization software is preferred, but not required.
- Detail-oriented and able to critically analyze and interpret medical genetics literature.
- Familiarity with the genomic testing markets and reporting.
- Passionate about clinical genomics.
