Position Summary
NAPA-West Parts and Supplies Inc is looking for an Parts counter salesman to help drive sales through superior customer service by exceeding customer expectations and providing a great Customer Service experience. This is an entry level position and training will be provided for applicants who have mechanical experience or automotive trade experience.
Position Responsibilities
- Ability to diagnose automobile problems and recommend solutions
- Ensures assigned store tasks are completed in a timely manner on assigned shift
- Operates cash registers and follows established cash handling procedures
- Follows company policies and loss prevention procedures
- Maintains store appearance and merchandising standards as directed
- Maintains product knowledge and current promotions
- Actively engaged in developing more effective customer service skills
- Provides honest and trustworthy advice to customers regarding the best products and parts that fit the customers’ expectations
Position Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts is required
- Excellent communication and decision making skills
- Ability to lift, load, and deliver merchandise
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the business needs, including holidays, evenings and weekend shifts
Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage tasks and prioritize workload
- Basic math skills for calculations related to automotive repairs and retail transactions
- Excellent phone etiquette for clear and professional communication with customers and team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and automotive systems
- Previous experience in a dealership or automotive environment is preferred but not required
