Position Summary

The National Audubon Society is seeking a full-time, motivated, and hands-on Talent Acquisition Specialist who will report to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will provide critical talent acquisition support to key team members and employees throughout the National Audubon Society and will play a key role in achieving.

Audubon’s strategic goals by identifying top talent, promoting a high-performance culture, and handling day-to-day recruiting duties. They will work across disciplines and must be proficient in candidate generation and sourcing, and be able to deliver quality, diverse candidates with minimal lead time. This role is ideal for a process-oriented individual that can handle a high volume across multiple geographies without sacrificing candidate experience.

This is a hybrid position. Candidates can work from our office location in New York, NY or Washington, DC.

Compensation

Salary range based on geo-differentials:

  • $80,094 - $90,105 / year = Washington, DC
  • $88,988 - $100,112 / year = New York, NY

Additional Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Full life-cycle recruitment for open roles across programs and business functions; partnering with leaders and developing/executing strategy, screen/interview/evaluate, candidates, perform reference checks, and facilitate the process through to offer delivery, negotiation, and on-boarding.
  • Conduct competency-based interviews, assess candidates, lead debriefs with hiring managers, mentor, and guide managers through hiring decisions.
  • Develop candidate networks and candidate pipelines in key areas across the organization, developing relationships and tapping industry sources to develop talent pools.
  • Act as Audubon brand ambassador and champion best practices throughout the process.
  • Utilize Applicant Tracking System as well as provide support as needed to hiring managers.
  • Develop an on-going pipeline of diverse internal and external candidates for various roles.
  • Assist or lead other Talent Acquisition-related projects as assigned; bring new ideas or relevant technologies to improve our effectiveness.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience as a full cycle recruiter, ideally in a non-profit or fast paced, matrixed environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ high volume recruitment experience.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting exempt and non-exempt employees within a high-volume arena.
  • Understanding of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Positive attitude and ability to remain flexible in an evolving environment.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to take initiative, make decisions, multitask, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • Self-starter with high energy; ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Good judgment to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Knowledge of current EEO guidelines, human resources legislation and regulations, as well as changes in the human resources field.
  • Experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS); experience with Workday, iCIMS, Taleo, JazzHR, or Greenhouse strongly preferred.
