This is a hybrid position located in Washington, D.C.

NCC is seeking an HR Generalist/Senior HR Generalist to lead the daily functions of the Human Resources department. This includes benefits, leave, explaining and enforcing company policies and practices, performance management, and compliance. The ideal candidate is strong in employee relations, assuring compliance, implementation of HR technology solutions, risk mitigation, and has a strategic concept to assist in guiding the business. The candidate will work directly with senior management, project managers, and mid-level managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day HR transactional responsibilities for the company
  • Participate in leading the culture change required to drive quality and financial results
  • Maintain compliance with HR related federal, state, and local requirements
  • Lead regular lunch and learns to provide employees the opportunity to learn new or reinforce various systems, processes and/or policies
  • Support overall HR Department maturation initiatives, in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources
  • Oversee onboarding/offboarding, benefits, employee engagement, retention activities, employee culture
  • Engage with the employee counsel on areas such as new benefit implementation, training opportunities, and overall employee morale programs
  • Create and implement an internal communications plan that includes regular communications and events, including a monthly company newsletter
  • Participate in NCC’s training program by tracking of certificates of completion, certifications and trainings completed by employees
  • Promote a positive work culture through morale boosting activities and events including group activities, and quarterly events
  • Work with Project/Program Managers and employees on inquiries and issues
  • Understand and use software and electronic HR business tools including HRIS system to drive process efficiency and reporting to support business decisions
  • Manage benefits, retention, and AA/EEO across the company
  • Provide guidance on labor policies, FMLA, OSHA, and ADA related issues
  • Develop organizational strategies and guidelines related to orientation and onboarding of new staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. Additional experience in lieu of degree is acceptable as well.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Human Resources
  • SHRM-CP certification preferred OR must willing to obtain certification within 1 year of start date.
  • Strong knowledge of HR and employment related laws and regulations..
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate at multiple organizational levels both verbally and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Work both independently and with a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Wide range of interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, and crisis management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of federal government contracting, including compliance preferred.

Special Position Requirements

Travel: As the company continues to grow and expand, some travel will be required to new and various work locations; expected to be less than 15%.

This is a full-time position. NCC offers a competitive compensation package: salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, flexible spending, three weeks accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), paid federal holidays, and 401(k) with company match.
