The Medical Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Community Support Services nursing department under the supervision of nursing staff.
SCHEDULE & LOCATION: Monday - Friday day shift, located at our office on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, MD. Position is on-site.
The salary range for this position is $23.00-25.00 per hour and offers a full benefits package.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
The Medical Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Community Support Services nursing department under the supervision of nursing staff.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Schedule physician appointments for people supported and coordinate with RNs, Home Managers and Program Coordinators
- Track attendance at appointments and reschedule as needed
- Schedule follow up appointments including return visits, lab work, and referrals to other healthcare providers
- Obtain, scan and upload medical consults documents into database after RN review
- Communicate appointment results and necessary follow-ups with assigned RN
- Track Certified Medication Technician (CMT) applications and renewals for department staff and coordinate with the appropriate Board of Nursing regarding pending applications
- Communicate pending CMT expirations to appropriate CSS staff
- In coordination with the Director of Nursing, develop and manage LPN/RN schedules
- Order, maintain and track inventory for all non-medical supplies
- File organizational documents, records and reports
- Assist with scheduling meetings and recording meeting minutes
- HS Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years administrative experience in a behavioral health, social services or medical setting
- Previous experience in a behavioral health, social services or medical office setting required
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Department of Disability Services (DDS) and/or Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) documentation standards preferred
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of the care team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Full vaccination for Covid-19 is required prior to the first day of employment
