The National Community Pharmacists Association is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to engage with the CEO, senior staff, and organization leaders to foster a high-performance culture. The COO will play a crucial role in executing NCPA's mission to protect and promote the work of the nation's independent pharmacies who provide a vital healthcare link to millions of patients throughout the country. The COO will report directly to the CEO and will be a hands-on contributor to organizational excellence both directly and through superior team coaching skills.

Responsibilities include:
- Cultivating a performance mindset in concert with NCPA's Culture of Excellence (Collaboration, Leadership, Accountability, Innovation, Integrity) throughout the organization.
- Implementing proven business strategies, plans and procedures.
- Significantly contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organization.
- Assuring oversight to NCPA Operations and other departments when necessary.
- Evaluating and working with other senior leaders to assure optimal operational performance across departments.
- Resolving operational challenges inherent in a lean environment.
- Contributing as a member of the Senior Leadership team to execute the NCPA Strategic Plan and meet or exceed targeted measures.
- Interacting with the NCPA Board of Directors as directed by the CEO.
- Partnering with the CFO and other senior leaders to execute against the annual budget.
- This position will be located in Alexandria (near the King Street Metro). Applicant should reside in the Washington, DC metro area. NCPA offers a hybrid work environment and a flex schedule.

Characteristics of the Ideal candidate will be:
- Experience as a Chief Operating Officer or relevant role and experience in the community pharmacy sector.

- Licensed pharmacist highly preferred.
- Possess a solid knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure, Excel, and other pertinent office software
