NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55 ) with the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the Agricultural Research Service through the Experienced Worker Program (EWP).

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Program Support Assistance OR HS/GED Degree in N/A
The work performed is program management and administrative assistance, as well as technical procedural advice in support of research program administration by identifying and analyzing issues and taking or recommending action using established guidelines. Serves as a point-of-contact for questions, information and problem resolution in the areas of grants and agreements, file management, correspondence preparation and control, HR actions, travel and office automation systems.

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Program Support Assistance OR HS/GED Degree in N/A
- Extensive experience in working as a Program Support Assistant in the USDA, ARS, NEA and expertise with ARS administrative programs.
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
- Concur, ZOOM, IAS, ARIS, ARM PS, CATS, FMMI, SOD, ATIS, HRD, MS TEAMS, Outlook
The work performed is program management and administrative assistance, as well as technical procedural advice in support of research program administration by identifying and analyzing issues and taking or recommending action using established guidelines. Serves as a point-of-contact for questions, information and problem resolution in the areas of grants and agreements, file management, correspondence preparation and control, HR actions, travel and office automation systems.
- Provides program management and administrative support with CRIS projects, grants, agreements, and manuscripts (115s) and act as liaison between MU's and the Director's Office. 40%
- Provides administrative assistance with various business processes, which may include duties such as travel preparation, purchasing systems. scheduling/attending meetings with responsibility for drafts of minutes. 35%
- Assist in the salaries, expenses, personnel changes, equipment, and R&D needs based on the previous year's expenditures and help to provide necessary information critical for the ARM PS process. 25%
