Human Resource & Insurance Specialist
Full Time Position :40 Hours per week
Salary Range: $65,800 to $68,000
FLSA Status: Exempt
National Hydro Excavation Services is an exciting stage of growth and finding the right Human Resource Specialist with experience in insurance procedures will be key to supporting that expansion! The right candidate would play an essential role in managing recruitment, ensuring compliance with labor laws, developing to improve on HR processes and aligning HR strategies with companies’ policies.
Key responsibilities may include:
Recruitment and Selection: Posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, checking references, background checks and onboarding new hires.
Employee Relations: Addressing employee concerns, mediating disputes, investigating complaints, and providing guidance on company policies.
Benefits Administration: Enrolling employees in benefits plans, processing benefit changes, answering questions regarding coverage, open enrollment and maintaining benefit records. Aiding retirement planning.
Insurance: Coordinating insurance renewals and prequalification.
Comprehensive Administration: Ensuring compliance with wage and hourly laws. Pre qualifications of clients and contracts, requesting Certificates of Insurance for clients, renewal of general liability and comprehensive certification with noted carrier.
Compliance: Staying updated on employment laws, ensuring adherence to regulations, and managing required documentation (I-9 forms, etc.)
Performance Management: Supporting performance review processes, providing feedback to employees and managers, and identifying training needs. Assist in Employee Improvement Plans and disciplinary requirements.
Training and Development: Coordinating training programs, delivering new hire orientation, and providing ongoing employee development opportunities.
Recordkeeping: Maintaining accurate employee files, tracking attendance, and generating reports on HR metrics.
Travel: With work location in Des Moines, IA and Lincoln, Ne travel will be expected when called upon.

Recruitment Specialist: Focuses on attracting and sourcing qualified candidates for open positions.
Compensation and Benefits Specialist: Manages employee benefits plans, salary structures, and compensation analysis.
Employee Relations Specialist: Primarily responsible for managing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, creating team building presentations and exercise in ensuring positive workplace relations.
Training and Development Specialist: Designs and delivers training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point Presentation.
High communication, organizational and efficiency skills
Ability to learn new software.
Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills in a minimum office environment.
