As an IT Office Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimizing IT resources and processes to support our mission of providing indispensable insights and support to leaders in the nation's capital.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems. Ensure systems are up-to-date, secure, and operating efficiently.
Serve as the primary point of contact for office technology needs, including computer hardware and software, peripherals, and digital communication tools. Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to procure, install, and maintain technology assets.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff members on IT-related issues, including hardware and software problems, network connectivity issues, and system errors. Ensure timely resolution of technical issues to minimize disruption to operations.
Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and systems from cybersecurity threats and breaches. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
Manage IT projects and initiatives, from planning and implementation to monitoring and evaluation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, including negotiating contracts, overseeing service agreements, and evaluating vendor performance. Ensure vendors deliver high-quality services that meet the company's needs and standards.
Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including inventory tracking, asset allocation, and disposal. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with asset management policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT management or related roles, with demonstrated expertise in office technology operations and support.
Proficiency in IT infrastructure management, including hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems. Experience with cloud computing, cybersecurity, and ITIL best practices is desirable.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and manage IT projects from inception to completion. Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Creative thinking and resourcefulness in problem-solving, with an ability to identify and address IT issues in a timely and effective manner.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve common goals. Experience leading cross-functional teams is preferred.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and technology trends, with a willingness to learn new skills and technologies as needed.
Proven track record of building new initiatives from conception to execution, showcasing an entrepreneurial mindset.

Compensation: The salary for this role is $60,000-$80,000 annually dependent on experience
Location: This job is based in Washington, DC. National Journal operates on a hybrid schedule, with employees required to be in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
