Role Summary
We are looking for a Creative Content Writer with a passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of how content drives engagement and business results. This role partners closely with marketing leadership, product teams, and program managers to craft compelling written content across multiple channels—including digital, print, video, and social media.
Reporting to the Director, Creative Services, the ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller who can translate complex financial concepts into clear, engaging, and persuasive messaging. They must be versatile, collaborative, and deadline-driven, with the ability to write for multiple audiences, including agents, retirement plan administrators, consumers, and internal teams.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develop, edit, and refine content for marketing collateral, digital campaigns, video scripts, thought leadership, and internal communications.
Ensure brand consistency, clarity, and tone across all messaging.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (program and product managers, compliance, creative teams) to ensure messaging aligns with strategic business goals.
Conduct research and interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs), agents, and key stakeholders to create authoritative and engaging content.
Apply SEO best practices to maximize digital visibility and effectiveness.
Stay updated on industry trends, financial regulations, and content marketing innovations to continually improve content strategy.
Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years of experience in content writing, copywriting, or marketing communications.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
Proven ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
Experience with SEO strategies and digital content best practices.
Strong proofreading skills, with knowledge of AP style or other standard style guides.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial services, insurance, or another regulated industry.
Knowledge of life insurance, annuities, and retirement products.
Experience developing content strategies that drive engagement and conversions.

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position. National Life offers a competitive total rewards package which includes: a 401(k) retirement plan match; medical, dental, and vision insurance; a company funded wellness account for director and below employees; 10 paid holidays; a generous paid time off plan (22 days of combined time-off for non-exempt employees and exempt employees have discretion in managing their time, including scheduling time off in the normal course of business, but in no event will exempt employees receive less sick time than required by state or local law); 6 weeks of paid parental leave; and 6 weeks of paid family leave after a year of full-time employment.
