Position Overview: Ensure the timeliness, integrity and accuracy of accounting records / data and Financial Statements by managing the day-to-day Accounting function through hands-on leadership and oversight of key General Ledger accounts, Inventory management and AR & AP cycles.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting for Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Intangibles, Other Assets, Accruals, Other Liabilities, monitoring General Ledger postings to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions.
- Maintain accounting for Fixed Assets, ensuring timely and accurate capitalization, disposal and depreciation; verifying physical existence through periodic audits; maintaining the Fixed Asset register and corresponding General Ledger accounts.
- Monitor cash and line of credit balances; assist with banking activity; coordinate daily cash report.
- Audit and manage inventory costing methods, cycle count procedures and manufacturing workflow. Coordinate effective procedures with operations to ensure proper valuation, BOM & routing setup and financial statement presentation of COGS.
- Supervise and perform month-end close process through the review and posting of journal entries, analysis and reconciliation of General Ledger accounts and processing all Accounting system closing and interface procedures, ensuring strict adherence to closing time schedule.
- Provide General Ledger trial balance and supporting documentation to facilitate the month-end financial closing and reporting process, ensuring strict adherence to closing time schedule.
- Analyze the Financial Statement positions for Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Intangibles, Other Assets, Accruals, Other Liabilities and Debt for accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting standards (US GAAP); create and maintain supplemental schedules and reports to facilitate the analysis of key General Ledger areas.
- Work collaboratively with Accounts Receivable / Payable to resolve Accounting system, General Ledger, customer or vendor issues. Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable initiatives.
- Assist in the year-end external financial audit, including physical inventory / cycle count support as necessary, ensuring strict adherence to closing time schedule.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of Budget and Forecasts.
- Coordinate, prepare and file various local, state and federal taxes, sales tax, use tax and workers’ compensation; work with outside accountants as necessary.
- Maintain Accounting policies and procedures; proactively identify and implement improvements to internal controls and accounting processes to improve integrity, accuracy, efficiency and productivity; leveraging use of standardization and ERP systems.
- Ensure the company Accounting system and any other related system(s) are operating as required, validate system integrity and data accuracy, suggesting and implementing changes to ensure system supports accounting and financial reporting requirements.
- Serve as the Secondary back-up to other Accounting areas, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as necessary; other duties and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:
Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
Experience: 4-5 years of progressive accounting experience; solid accounting skills; background in / understanding of US GAAP reporting fundamentals.
