This position is 100% Remote

We are NTI, which is a non-profit organization and has been placing Americans with Disabilities in work-at-home jobs since 1995. We are working with our Client Partner Gerber to fill a Payment Processor position.

Position Overview

We are looking for Payment Processors to provide exceptional service to existing customers with basic service transactions. This is a Part-Time position where your goal will be to assist customers by answering calls, handling payments, securing recurring payments, promoting services, and transferring to other lines when appropriate. Pay is $11.00 per hour.

This position is a minimum of 20-25 hours per week Monday through Friday. The part time hours will be worked within the timeframe of 7:45am to 7pm EST.

Residents of the following states are NOT eligible for this position:   Alaska, California, Hawaii, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, US Virgin Islands, Vermont, Washington DC, and Wyoming.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Process customer payment transactions, including automated Clearing House and Credit/Debit card payments.
  • Secure recurring payment if the customer is not already set up
  • Follow scripts with 100% accuracy
  • Process cancellations
  • Meet client metrics, including average handle time, recurring payment, professionalism
  • Promote E-Service and other self-service functions.
  • Capture lead information from customers interested in further coverage.
  • Transfer calls to the Sales line.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must pass a background check.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Recent (within last 2 years) phone customer service experience is required
  • Solid to advanced computer skills, including data entry and word processing. 
  • Must be comfortable navigating a new computer with dual monitors.
  • Navigate multiple screens and programs, ability to confidently multitask (type and listen at the same time).
  • Solid active listening skills.
  • Ability to meet position scheduling requirements.
  • Ability to read and follow a script with 100% accuracy
  • Ability to carry out clear directives under a fast-paced, high call volume atmosphere while following company procedures, including meeting call metrics
  • Ability to sit/stand and answer the telephone while using a computer for the duration of assigned shifts (regular breaks are included)
  • Polite, professional, confident, friendly, and upbeat phone demeanor
  • Typing speed of 30 words per minute.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Someone who Receives SSI/SSDI
  • Experience in the life insurance industry is a strong advantage.
  • Previous at-home call center experience (transferring, order taking, inbound customer service)

Special Position Requirements:

  • Able to work 20-25 hours per week between 7:45 am and 7:00 pm Eastern Time Monday through Friday.
  • All employees work 5 days per week.
  • 2 Weeks of Full time Training
  • After training, there will be 2 weeks of part-time nesting. Nesting hours are to be determined and will be provided during training.

Home Office Requirements:

  • Desk space for a computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse provided by the company.
  • A computer headset and telephone equipment will be required for communication.  Further details will be provided by the client when Recommended for this job.
  • Reliable DSL, Cable, or FiOS Internet. Screenshot results of multiple Internet speed tests will be requested due to the importance of a reliable Internet connection for this job.
  • Internet speed requirements with a landline phone are a minimum of 3 Mbps download speed, and 1 Mbps upload speed.
  • Wifi hotspots, dial-up, and satellite Internet connections are not accepted – the connection MUST be hardwired.
  • Must provide dedicated phone line - Landline is preferred over VOIP line– No others in the household can use the line while you are on your shift. VoIP and Cable Service providers allowed are:
  • Verizon
  • Comcast
  • AT&T
  • Xfinity
  • Charter
  • All VOIP and Cable service phone providers not listed above must be approved by the client before moving forward.
  • Internet with VOIP or Cable phone systems must have a download speed above 3 Mbps, upload speed above 6Mbps, and PING below 100 Ms.
  • A corded analog telephone with a dial pad and wired applicable headset (not USB as the headset will need to plug directly into your phone) is required for landline phone systems. Gerber recommends the Cortelco Model ITT-9125 Caller ID Corded Single Line Multi-Feature Telephone, but it is up to the applicant to provide a suitable phone and headset.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, and type on a keyboard; reach with hands and arms; balance; speak clearly and hear; Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
