Major Duties (Job Description)
- Provide cost estimation support, assist in implementing cost estimating in support of acquisition milestones.
- Perform special research tasks designed to utilize and enhance knowledge of work processes and techniques, and to afford an opportunity to apply the fundamentals of associated disciplines.
- Identify sources of data and perform data acquisition and reduction.
- Conduct scientific inquiry and analysis applicable to unique or recurring problems that confront decision makers.
- Systematically examine and develop alternative courses of action to define and clarify the advantages and disadvantages of available choices.
Qualification Summary
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirement per the individual, single agency qualification standard for Department of Defense positions : Applicants must possess, or be in possession of before hiring date, a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
Degree : in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
GS-07 : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

3.45 GPA or higher in major or in last 2 years in major (= or less than 10% Pass / Fail)
