Position Overview
The Event Logistics and Freighting Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics and transportation of materials for events. This role ensures the timely and efficient movement of goods, coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to support successful event execution.
Key Areas Of Responsibility
- Plan and manage the logistics and freighting operations for events.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Oversee the packing, shipping, and receiving of event materials.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and track shipments, resolving any issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and shipments.
- Collaborate with event planners to understand logistical requirements and timelines.
- Manage budgets and negotiate contracts with logistics providers.
- Coordinate small-footprint tradeshows from start to finish.
- Experience: 5 years in logistics, supply chain management, or event management. Experience with international shipping and customs regulations is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
