These solutions center on a wide range of hardware from end user devices, to rugged mobile computers for field operations, and networking, compute, and storage equipment for integration into military platforms. At the same time, we also developed and refined robust business practices to compete effectively in the markets that we focus on; e.g., Federal civilian agencies, all three branches of the military, and the System Integrator community serving them.

This facility magnifies the strengths that we have gathered over the years to position us well for future growth and diversification which have been defined in our Go To Market strategy. This strategy centers on IT product-based services formulated into a number of solutions targeted at different addressable markets and charts our development trajectory for the next five years

We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to be our Director of Human Resources, a key member of our management team. This is a work in office full time position.


Position Description:

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading all administrative functions with a strong emphasis on recruitment, HR, compliance with applicable regulations, employee accommodations, benefits and insurance management, and other administrative services. This position plays a critical role in promoting a positive work environment for a workforce that includes a large percentage of employees with limited or no English language skills. The Director will lead efforts to support employee development, improve organizational efficiency, and ensure all administrative functions are aligned with the organization's goals and compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies that attract a qualified workforce, with particular attention to:
  • Executives and senior managers; and
  • candidates with limited or no English proficiency
  • Coordinate with supervisors to ensure job descriptions are complete and accurate, and qualifications are specified
  • Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, and onboarding for all levels of staff
  • Collaborate with community organizations, educational institutions, and employment agencies to reach diverse talent pools
  • Implement recruitment best practices to ensure an inclusive hiring process
  • Draft offer letters to selected candidates and obtain approvals of cognizant supervisor and EVP/CFO before issuance
  • Obtain Form I-9 for all new hires to verify the identity and employment eligibility of a new employees via the e-Verify system offered by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration, ensuring that they are legally authorized to work
  • Ensure equal treatment of all applicants
  • Human Resources & Employee Relations:
  • Oversee all HR functions, including performance management and reviews, coordinate with supervisors on problematic employees, employee relations, compensation, and training
  • Maintain job description database
  • Maintain Employee Handbook and ensure compliance with its policies
  • Handle H1-B applications as required including coordination with immigration attorneys
  • Track when employee performance reviews are due, alert supervisors and ensure they are completed in a timely manner
  • Implement and manage systems for accommodating employees with limited or no English skills, including translation services on occasion
  • Foster a supportive work environment that promotes employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention
  • Address employee concerns, mediate disputes, and resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner
  • In coordination with applicable supervisor and EVP/CFO, draft warning letters to employees when appropriate
  • Maintain positive employee relations, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and workplace expectations
  • Benefits and Insurance Administration:
  • Manage the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health (including COBRA), dental, life, and disability insurance plans, and HSA and FSA plans
  • Administer and manage our 401K & Profit Sharing Plan including its Roth provisions and serve as principal point of contact with plan auditors
  • Ensure all benefits are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with employee needs
  • Support employee inquiries as to their vacation and sick leave balances, and other paid time off available to them
  • Provide education and support to employees regarding benefits, and ensure the translation of benefits information when necessary
  • Administrative Leadership:
  • Supervise administrative staff, including receptionist, ensuring that administrative functions run smoothly
  • Ensure the office environment supports productivity and meets the needs of all employees, including those requiring accommodations due to language barriers
  • Control office and cubicle assignments
  • Control work in office (WIO) vs. work from home (WFH) schedules for all administrative personnel
  • Oversee scheduling, correspondence and the implementation of administrative processes
  • Coordinate with Facilities Manager when appropriate and particularly with regard to common areas; e.g., conference rooms, the main lobby, restrooms and galleys
  • Provide leadership to ensure efficient and effective administrative support across the organization
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws, benefits regulations, and insurance requirements, including DOL, ACA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA
  • Ensure compliance with SBA regulations when applicable to Federal contracts
  • Oversee AA and EEO reporting and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Develop and implement policies and practices that support AA and EEO goals
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of HR-related reports, including AA and EEO compliance reports, as well as benefits and insurance records
  • Maintain accurate records related to employee data, benefits, and insurance programs in compliance with legal standards
  • Employee Experience and Engagement:
  • Develop and implement programs that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, including for non-English speaking employees
  • Organize employee wellness programs, workshops, and training sessions that support employee needs
  • Promote a workplace culture that ensures all employees feel supported and valued
  • Foster an environment in which all employees feel comfortable as people perform better when they are comfortable in all respects
  • Leadership & Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the company's mission and goals
  • Advise and support leadership on employee-related issues, workforce planning, and organizational design
  • Evaluate HR processes and recommend improvements to enhance organizational effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in human resources, with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to successfully work with people at all levels
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task on a sustained basis.
  • Must project an image (through demeanor, dress, communications, etc.) that warrants respect of colleagues and third parties, and deference of staff at large
  • Warm and welcoming personality to attract new hires and put existing staff at ease
  • Expertise with HR legal requirements
  • Familiarity with AA and EEO compliance
  • Strong understanding of benefits and insurance administration and related regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to implement effective HR strategies
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar certification preferred
  • Experience working with employees who have limited or no English proficiency helpful
