Responsibilities
The Medical Staff Office (MSO) at Lincoln Regional Center plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the healthcare professions working in the hospital. Here are some of the key functions and responsibilities for the Administrative Specialist, other duties may be assigned as needed:
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.
Other: 19 years of age.
Knowledge of: federal and State laws and regulations governing work assigned; office management and record keeping methods and practices; administrative report preparation practices; research and administrative survey techniques; work planning and organizing; business computer and communication systems.
Ability to: interact with immediate supervisor and senior managers, employees, and the public to gain their cooperation and to establish work relationships; formulate and recommend modifications to operational directives to attain agency goals; apply management practices, techniques, and methodologies to assigned activities; collect, assemble, and analyze facts and draw conclusions to recommend solutions to problems; identify and interpret program-administrative requirements, policies, and regulations to provide guidance and advice; organize and present facts and opinions to managers and groups; learn the structure, functions, goals, and policies of the employing agency.

- Medical Staff Credentialing and Privileging.
- Privileging Process to healthcare providers.
- Ongoing Medical Staff Monitoring.
- Compliance of hospital policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Assist with accreditation surveys.
- Facilitate the peer review process.
- Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new medical staff.
- Maintain comprehensive records/documentation.
- Committee Support.
- Liaison between the medical staff, hospital administration, community partners, and other DHHS programs and regulatory agencies.
- Patient Safety.
- Assist with the management of the University Training Program Affiliation Agreements.
- Facility Credentialing.
- Assist with creating, maintaining, and distributing the physician on-call schedule and ensuring the hospital has provider call coverage 24/7.
