Job Summary:

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Four - 8 hour shifts/week
Responsible for diagnostic scheduling.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Facilitates access to Methodist Hospital services including program referrals and information by use of a computer based scheduling system or telephonic communication to meet the customer's needs.
Performs multi-resource appointment scheduling for outpatient diagnostic services utilizing the computer based scheduling system to meet customer satisfaction. Pre-registers patients.
Collaborates with physician office staff and diagnostic departments to determine appropriate indications, patient instructions, and education are given for proper patient preparation and understanding of scheduled test/procedure by using clear communication skills.
Contacts patients and/or MD office staff to rebook patients that need rescheduling to facilitate patient care.
Serves as a liaison between physicians, physician's office staff, and the hospital by coordinating resource appointment scheduling for patient satisfaction.
Maintains team work, positive mentoring and willingly assists with training of employees by positively assisting with the implementation of new procedures and job functions to enhance Access Center services.
Schedule:
Perinatal Center office is open Monday - Friday. This position is an eight hour day shift, 4 days each week.

Job Requirements
Education
- High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent required.
- Two years college or equivalent preferred.
- Participates in mandatory in-services and continuing education programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and per administrative direction.
Experience
- Previous health care scheduling experience and customer service preferred.
- Medical terminology education or 2 years clinical experience required.
- Nine to twelve months on the job training.
License/Certifications
- N/A
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to efficiently enter information into a software application on a computer keyboard.
- Skill in the use of standard office equipment and personal computers and ability to manage multiple phone lines.
- Ability to navigate windows and input data.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully.
