Overview:

The Teen Program Coordinator is responsible for creating, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating program outcomes for our Teen summer program for ages 13-15.
The Teen Program Coordinator will lead a small team of dedicated staff and youth to plan and implement meaningful and engaging opportunities to create positive relationships with a diverse group of teens, create leadership skills, be civically involved, and enjoy a wide variety of group recreational activities to foster team building and positive communication. They will be responsible for helping to facilitate a constructivist learning environment that allows youth to create meaning out of their experience through reflection and demonstration. Additionally, the Teen Program Coordinator will be responsible for proper supervision of and interaction with youth, practicing effective group management, encouraging participation, developing meaningful relationships, serving as a positive role model and most of all; having fun!
Neighborhood House’s teen program (SOAR) runs for eleven weeks, Monday, June 3rd, 2024 through Thursday, August 15th, 2024, and includes several 3-5 day overnight excursions.Duties And Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be the team lead and work collaboratively with the other staff members.
- Create and implement all excursions and activities for the program
- Recruit teen participants through outreach at local schools
- Track program outcomes
- Manage all program spending in alignment with the set budget
- Supervision of youth
Qualifications:
- A person who is self-motivated for success.
- Driven toward excellence.
- Very responsible and highly dependable.
- Knowledgeable about experiential education frameworks, youth voice, and growth mindset.
- Must have/or obtain: CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Must be able to attend multi-day excursions.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Pass a Childcare Licensing Background Check.
- Pass a drug test.
- Higher Education in Social Work, Psychology, Recreation, or Education Fields required.
- Valid Utah Driver’s License.
- Ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.
