About the job

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Program and Resource Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for resource coordination and reallocation, financial growth coaching, data intake and management, and owning our housing acquisition programming. As a Lead Program and Resource Specialist at The Neighborhood Resource Center, you will play a key role in ensuring that our members are able to reach their dreams through financial asset-building. This position will work directly with the executive director to help our members reach long-term growth goals, including building long-term savings and preparing for retirement. This is an in-person position with some local area travel in an area with inadequate public transit, so regular use of a motor vehicle for transportation is required.

The Neighborhood Resource Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational, cultural and nutrition center in Richmond, Virginia's east end. Role and responsibilities

The role’s primary focus will be to work with the executive director to ensure that our members are connected to the resources and support that they need to reach their dreams. The Lead Program and Resource Specialist will serve as an financial asset growth coach, providing one-to-one coaching to help our members achieve their long-term goals. They will play a key role in ensuring our NRC WORKS program staff remain proactive in coaching members to complete short-term goals, which begins the transition from financial crisis to stability. Program staff currently includes two full time Program and Resource Specialists, with one focused on employment coaching and technology education and the other on financial crisis and stability. The Lead Program and Resource Specialist owns our housing acquisition programming. From February to April, they serve in the roles of greeter/screener and site coordinator for our IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). Training is provided for the VITA roles. They will become a notary public, with costs associated with this covered by the NRC Fulton.

On a typical week

A typical week for the Lead Program and Resource Specialist involves meeting with members of the WORKS program for one-to-one coaching sessions, leading a workshop, meeting with the rest of the WORKS team to talk through outcomes data and discuss individual member coaching progress, and a one-to-one check-in with their director. As a small team, we collaborate across program areas and the Lead Program and Resource Specialist would participate in at least once a month staff meetings. Lunch breaks are encouraged. The Lead Program and Resource Specialist would use Salesforce on a daily basis to enter information and to generate reports. They would also use Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Chat, and Google Meet on a daily basis.

About you

You have direct experience in coaching, financial asset topics, including high-yield savings accounts, Certificates of Deposit, and housing acquisition. You have intermediate level skills with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite. You have utilized these tools to create documents, track data, and to create and deliver presentations.

You have given presentations to audiences of 20 people or more.

You can manage a high volume of work because you always plan ahead, troubleshoot, and keep track of details. You catch and fix errors (because nobody is perfect, including you) and turn mistakes into learning opportunities. You have a history of achievement and producing results. Because of this, you have a track record of leaving things in better shape than you found them.

We offer

$55,500 annual salary
