Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Digital Communications is a key member of the Communications team responsible for leading NeighborWorks America's digital storytelling and web content strategy. This role focuses on creating and managing compelling social media content, maintaining a robust digital presence, and ensuring optimal performance of the organization’s websites. This position requires expertise in social media and content creation, content strategy, website editing using Drupal and WordPress, and the ability to adapt to the rapidly evolving digital media landscape.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube to enhance audience engagement, grow followers, and promote NeighborWorks’ mission, according to the NeighborWorks America and Associated Press style guides.
- Create, curate, and manage content for social media and digital channels, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and brand guidelines.
- Oversee content creation and maintenance for NeighborWorks America’s public-facing websites, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strategic alignment
- Serve as the lead content editor for websites using Drupal and WordPress, including uploading, formatting, and optimizing content.
- Analyze digital performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights to assess engagement and refine strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and blogs, that supports organizational initiatives.
- Train and guide staff on social media best practices, ensuring consistent messaging and adherence to policies.
- Monitor trends in digital media, SEO, and UX to enhance NeighborWorks’ digital presence and user experience.
- Coordinate with consultants and vendors for specialized content and website projects as needed.
- Participate in cross-functional planning teams and other duties as assigned.
Nature of Work Contacts:
Collaborate with NeighborWorks America staff, network member organizations, vendors, national partners, and media contacts. Engage with external audiences, including the general public, to enhance brand visibility and outreach.
Fiscal Responsibilities:
Monitoring of digital media expenses, personal expense report submission, travel card, vendor contract monitoring and evaluation.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years of work experience in social media management and/or as a website content editor or similar role and a proven ability to develop and execute social media strategies that drive audience growth and engagement.
- Must present a proactive approach with a desire to innovate and improve digital engagement strategies.

Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Knowledge of accessibility standards and web content best practices

Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g. HubSpot, Sprout Social).

Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and UX best practices.

Familiarity with content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:

Working Conditions:
- Travel up to 25%.
- Fast paced working environment, with extensive computer use and technological communication.
- Hybrid: this role reports to the DC office two days per week.
Salary Range:
$95, 500 - 100,000
The salary offered for the role will be based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, internal equity, and the candidate’s qualifications/professional experience.

Purpose of Division:
The Communications and Marketing division elevates NeighborWorks America's mission through strategic storytelling, digital engagement, and creative outreach. The division oversees the creation and dissemination of print and digital content, manages the organization’s website and social media platforms, and coordinates cross-platform communications strategies.
The division also drives content strategy, ensures alignment with corporate goals, and provides graphic and editorial support across the organization. It supports NeighborWorks America's Web strategy, focusing on audience engagement, accessibility, and data-driven content delivery.
