About the Position
Join our dedicated and skilled community-focused team to help make our clients' homes more comfortable, cost effective and energy efficient. We are looking for a customer-service focused Energy Services Technician for a NYSERDA program to work with our clients to assess their homes and identifying ways to improve their energy efficiency in the Buffalo and Niagara Falls Areas. This is a year-round role with no work slow-downs in a growing organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works independently to performs energy audits to analyze and evaluate homes using BPI standards based on appropriate building and construction techniques.
- Develops scope of work for projects, works with project contractors to ensure completion of all required contract work, documents and reports
- Submits all data to NYSERDA required for Green Jobs/Green New York energy audit approval, EmPower program approval, Home Performance approval, or other approvals available for reporting and project billing.
- Maintains expertise with BPI standards and industry practices related to energy improvements in residential housing.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Company will provide training to obtain BPI Building Analyst and Building Envelope or HVAC Certification, current certification preferred
- A minimum of two years’ experience in the energy services, HVAC and residential construction field is preferred
- Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word), and Windows Operating System and NYSERDA Portal
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Is attentive to detail and self – motivated
- Strong Math skills required.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and remain up–to–date on research, policy and best practices relating to energy services.
- Strong interpersonal skills required to ensure positive customer relations; strong ability to explain processes and effectively manage customer expectations
- Transportation is necessary and a valid driver’s license is required
