What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance Technician position at Nelson Connects?
You are a Facility Maintenance Technician assisting the engineering/facilities management on projects and performing preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
This position pays: $20.00 - $22.00
What you will be doing:
- Perform routine inspections of the building systems, and make minor repairs as needed
- Coordinate and assist with departmental and employee moves
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment and clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
- Ensure the appropriate inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, and equipment are maintained
- Perform other building maintenance functions as required (e.g. furniture moves, basic electrical and plumbing repairs, mechanical)
- Notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilation equipment
What you bring:
- Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment
- In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
- Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment
- Two years of verifiable experience maintaining various building interior and exterior surfaces, including painted and papered walls
- Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Extremely adaptable, self-trained with excellent customer service and positive attitude
