Facility Maintenance Technician
Trefethen Family Vineyards, a family-owned estate winery in the Oak Knoll District of the Napa Valley, is looking for a detail-oriented team player to add to our maintenance crew. Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, the Facility Maintenance Technician will play a key role helping to keep the winery running smoothly and looking great. This position performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all winery process equipment as well as general repairs and maintenance for all winery buildings. This is a full-time hands-on working position. Responsibilities
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of presses, pumps, filtration, refrigeration, and other winery equipment
• Provide general maintenance across all winery buildings
• Electrical, painting, plumbing, carpentry and other related projects
• Observe safety and security procedures
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Complete projects on time while demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks
• Maintain the high standards of the winery as it relates to building cleanliness, maintenance, functionality and safety
• Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Proven strong mechanical aptitude
• Background in fabrication, electrical, plumbing, auto repair and/or other related fields preferred
• Knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatic systems, wastewater systems, and welding preferred
• Problem-solving skills in mechanical and electrical areas
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to respond to frequently changing needs
• Ability to handle numerous projects in progress at one time
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and independently, with minimal supervision
• Ability to work long shifts when called upon and the possibility of weekend call-in
• Prior winery experience preferred, but not required
• Valid California Driver’s License
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• Lifting and handling materials weighing 60 pounds or more
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time; walk, kneel, and climb stairs and ladders
• Ability to work in different exposures: indoor, outdoor, hot, cold, wet or dry
• Ability to work while standing on different surfaces: cement, blacktop, vineyard floor
• Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including ear plugs and safety glasses
• Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
• Walking on sloped or uneven terrain
• Grasping, stooping, carrying and crouching
Job Type: Full Time/Non-Exempt
Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base scale offered for this position is $35.00-$40.00/hour. This salary range represents what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. However, the actual pay rate will depend upon job-related factors such as overall qualifications, skills, experience, education, etc. The Company reserves the right to modify the range at any time.
