Summary

The Executive Director for Academic Services provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for initiatives that prepare students for post-secondary success. This individual is responsible for the administration, coordination, and advancement of programs related to secondary education, workforce development, and innovative learning opportunities. The position ensures alignment with institutional goals, district objectives, and community needs while fostering collaboration among stakeholders to enhance student outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The individual who holds this position must :

  • Supervise and support school administrators to ensure effective leadership and the successful implementation of district goals.
  • Provide guidance on curriculum delivery, student engagement strategies, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Lead the development and implementation of academic course offerings to align with college and career readiness standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design pathways that reflect emerging workforce needs and higher education requirements.
  • Monitor course outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and equity.
  • Oversee the district's early college programs, ensuring equitable access for all students.
  • Partner with colleges and universities to establish and maintain dual credit and early college agreements.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for expansion.
  • Develop and implement workforce development initiatives in collaboration with industry partners.
  • Align workforce programs with regional economic needs and student interests.
  • Promote internships, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training opportunities for students.
  • Manage and expand innovative learning programs, such as NewCaps, RootEd, and CTEC, ensuring they provide students with meaningful, real-world experiences.
  • Engage local businesses and community organizations to foster partnerships that enhance program offerings.
  • Regularly review program goals, metrics, and outcomes to ensure alignment with district priorities.
  • Direct the administration of A and ICAPS programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of individualized transition plans for students, particularly those with unique needs.
  • Promote cross-departmental collaboration to support students as they transition from high school to post-secondary pathways.
  • Provide strategic oversight for the district's agricultural facility to ensure it supports educational objectives and student learning.
  • Partner with local agricultural businesses and institutions to expand learning opportunities.
  • Ensure facility operations are safe, sustainable, and aligned with program goals.
  • Ability to set vision, guide teams, and execute plans to achieve long-term goals.
  • Build strong relationships with educators, students, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to inform program development, track performance, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to support organizational goals.

Education

Specialist degree or higher in a job related area.

Job related experience within a specialized field with at least three years of successful teaching and administration experience preferred.

Valid Missouri teaching certificate and Missouri Administration certification
