Job Description
NessCampbell Crane Rigging, is seeking a Controller. This hands, mostly on site with flexibility when needed, will have responsibility for management of the accounting team and accounting related activities. The candidate will also be involved in process improvement initiatives, staff development and will act as a Finance Business Partner supporting operations. This role reports directly to the CFO. Responsibilities:
- Manage month end closing process including all adjusting journal entries, financial statement preparation, financial deck, account reconciliations, analytical review, and reporting
- Support the CFO with other financial projects as needed; budgeting, reporting, analysis, risk management, ERP processes, polices, internal controls
- Lead company in efficient and timely completion of annual review
- Compliance with State and local tax reporting
- Implement job cost accounting strategies to improve labor, equipment and material cost issues
- Streamline processes and create efficiencies within the accounting/reporting function
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
- Compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing financial and operational policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- 5 years experience in accounting management with financial reporting
- Minimum of 3 years experience in construction accounting
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements (GAAP)
- Proficient in all MS Office software, in particular Excel
- Construction industry software experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to think analytically and independently, resolve problems and work well with internal and external customers
- Attention to detail/accuracy
- Sage 300 (timberline) a plus with previous job costing experience preferred
