Position Summary

The Accountant (Audit) is a member of the Finance Team with responsibility to function as project lead for all organizational fiscal audits. The Accountant (Audit) will report to the Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate internal controls

• Preparation of financial schedules, compilations, reconciliations, general ledger/trial balance analysis

• Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up of audit engagements

• Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards

• Meet time constraints and deadlines related to audit engagements

• Perform other general accounting and finance department functions as needed

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Finance or Accounting is required

• CPA preferred

• Experience with A-133 and uniform guidance for government funding nonprofits with federal funding emphasis

• Strong accounting background/knowledge; 3-5 years of public accounting firm experience

• Experience with Financial Edge is preferred but not mandatory

• Excellent responsiveness and demonstrated teamwork skills

• Strong organizational skills are required; multi-tasking abilities

• Ability to work well independently but also work well with others

• Approaches projects with a sense of urgency

• Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

• Ability to work independently, solve problems and be flexible

• Flexibility, professional demeanor, ability to respond calmly and positively to rapidly changing situations.
