New England Chimney Supply (NECS) is a leading manufacturing company specializing in chimney venting systems. We are currently looking for a Purchasing /Inventory Specialist to join our team!
The Purchasing/Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring products and materials required for daily operations are organized and sufficient to fulfill manufacturing and customer needs. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within our team.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Create and process purchase orders for raw materials and resale items based on stocking levels.
- Manage stock and place orders for non-inventory supplies required for day-to-day operations.
- Work with vendors to ensure lead times are met and expedite orders as needed.
- Track and update purchase order ETAs weekly.
- Execute inventory analysis; identify and resolve discrepancies and issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate information in inventory management system. Identify and update incorrect descriptions, stock numbers and locations.
- Assist in receiving functions, multi-site inventory transfers, stock item master.
- Create and oversee bi-weekly intercompany transfer orders from VT to VA for resale and raw materials.
- Ensure company milestones and goals are met.
- Automate process(es) to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Assist Director of Supply Chain with monitoring and updating vendor and company pricing as needed.
- Manage inventory levels through reporting and review monthly, quarterly, and yearly usage and run rates and make changes to stocking levels as needed.
- Create and distribute and review inventory counts based on company guidelines.
- Review VT stock and work with team to create transfer orders to bring stock to and from 273 warehouse.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Above average attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel and Word.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
