PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibilities include maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support production and accurate counting of inventory. Working collaboratively with all departments to ensure the timely and efficient distribution of inventory. Routinely evaluate and identify vendors based on factors such as best pricing, reputation, and ethical standards.
Requires a high level of attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Identify Needs and Review Inventory
Needs Assessment
· Determine the required supplies, considering current inventory levels, usage patterns, and anticipated future needs.
Inventory Management
· Review current stock levels to avoid overstocking or running out of essential items.
· Collaborate effectively with other teams and departments, including sales, shipping, and purchasing.
· Audit common manufacturing inventory items according to a recurring schedule and provide reports to the plant manager and other necessary entities.
· Train other employees in cycle counting and inventory control.
· Create, maintain, and train employees in a process for recording daily production output (to be completed daily after production shift dismissal)
Research and Select Suppliers
Supplier Research
· Identify potential suppliers, comparing their pricing, quality, reliability, and delivery times.
Vendor Evaluation
· Evaluate suppliers based on cost, reputation, and ethical standards.
· Maintain a comprehensive vendor list
Negotiation
· Negotiate terms and conditions, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Purchasing
Purchase Order (PO):
· Create a formal purchase order (PO) outlining the details of the order, including the items, quantities, prices, and delivery instructions.
Order Placement:
· Submit the PO to the chosen supplier, ensuring clear communication and confirmation of the order details.
Track and Manage Orders
Order Tracking:
· Monitor the status of orders, including shipment dates and delivery confirmations.
Order Management:
· Use a system to track orders, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery.
Receive and Inspect Goods
Receiving
· Verify that the goods received match the PO details, including quantity, quality, and specifications.
Inspection
· Inspect the goods for any damage or defects and document any discrepancies.
· Work with Quality Control to file claims with vendors when defective parts are found in inventory.
Inventory Management
· Maintain working knowledge of inventory technologies and make recommendations to the Plant Manager.
· Maintain inventory storage areas, keeping them clean, neat, and organized
· Develop processes and locations for the disposition of obsolete items in inventory.
Offsite Work Management
· Develop and implement an SOP for employees doing approved off-site tasks, including deadlines and distribution processes.
· Prepare kits for approved off-site tasks; distribute & retrieve as outlined in the SOP.
· Follow all safety protocols.
· Operates forklift truck when necessary. Certification required
· Perform other related duties as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
· Oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, and management personnel.
· Ability to meet strict deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well under pressure, such as when inventory deliveries or shipments are late or forgotten.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in inventory control or wholesale distribution, purchasing, and warehousing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Bending or twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, climbing, and walking. Safely moving or lifting objects to 50 pounds. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to respond quickly to sounds and recognize and respond to dangerous situations.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people, on the production floor and in the office. Exposure to sounds and noise levels may be distracting.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
· Safety glasses and gloves depending on work areas.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
