We are seeking an HR & Payroll Assistant to assist our Human Resources team with processing payroll, administering benefits, preparing tax forms, and handling misc. projects to ensure optimal efficiency in our growing HR department. This is an entry-mid level role, and the ideal candidate possesses a keen attention to detail, enjoys administrative work, and is adept at transitioning between tasks with ease.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process punch change requests and time off requests in HRIS system.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions for payroll processing.
  • Assist with processing semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles; run associated reports, audit payroll files for accuracy, and address errors/missing information proactively to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Assist with audits of payroll and benefits records.
  • Serve as backup for enrolling and terminating benefits in carrier portals.
  • Assist with answering HR, payroll, benefits, and timekeeping questions.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Assist with various types of reporting: compliance, tax, payroll, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of and/or interest in learning more about HR and payroll best practices and employment law.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information professionally and discreetly.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelors degree, with an emphasis in finance, accounting, human resources, or business administration preferred.
  • 1 years of experience in an HR, payroll, or accounting role.
  • Proficiency with Paycom (HRIS software).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Expected hourly range: $20.00/hour to $26.50/hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, and supplementary insurance coverage on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.
  • 401k with a company match.
  • Paid vacation, personal, and sick time.
