Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technology Assistant to support our team in various administrative and clerical tasks. QUALIFICATIONS/RECOMMENDED SKILLS:
- A Certification or equivalent experience
- Helpful but not required certifications: CCNA, Network , Security
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Willing to learn new things
- IT troubleshooting and repair skills: desktops, laptops, and other common peripheral devices
- Excellent software skills (Microsoft Office 2103 or higher)
- Google Suite knowledge and experience
- Cisco Meraki knowledge
- Operating System experience (Windows 10/11 Pro)
- Microsoft Server 2016 knowledge
- DHCP and DNS
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Certificate Authority
- Print Management
- Shared Drives and shared folders
- Chrome Management and Chrome Active Directory: provisioning new Chromebooks, repairing Chromebooks and retiring old Chromebooks from fleet
- SonicWall Firewall Knowledge: able to view and interpret event logs
- Sophos Intercept XDR or general understanding of endpoint detection and response(EDR) or extended detection and response (XDR) platforms
- Knowledge and experience with hardware warranty procedures
- General knowledge of wireless technology and wireless concepts
- General knowledge of computer networks, including routing and switching, firewalls, VLANs, network security concepts.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs up to a height of 4 feet occasionally
REPORTS TO: Technology Director
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month (261 days) with benefits provided according to the Classified Agreement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide technical support for computer users via phone and on-site..
2. Maintain/update the work order system and communicate work order priority and status to end-users.
3. Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot malfunction of computer or network devices relating to user error,
faulty hardware, or software/server/network issues.
4. Communicate effectively with staff and students regarding the maintenance of technology.
5. Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot malfunction of hardware devices, including printers, scanners,
barcode readers, digital cameras, etc.
6. Disaggregate service-related data to discover trends and recommend process modifications for technology
service.
7. Actively monitor and report compliance with the district’s technology service level agreement.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Lead special technology projects as required.
2. Attend meetings and training as scheduled.
3. Other duties as assigned.
