Children Pastor

At New Hope Church, we exist to see lost people found, found people growing, and New Hope impacting the world. We work on reaching our community for Christ, seeing real change in the lives of believers, and spreading God’s hope everywhere we have reach. Our church has 2 campuses along with several church plants. Our Children's Pastor or Director will help to continue the mission of New Hope by ministering to the children and the parents of our community. Our kids ministry averages around 140 kids per week and we are excited to see our kids learning about God and gaining a passion for Him. With the right person on the team, we hope to reach our community and help our kids grow even more.

Responsibilities

• Cast the vision for a vibrant Children’s Ministry that will allow kids to experience God, not just learn about Him, in a relevant and relational way
• Develop and schedule a dynamic leadership team of staff and volunteers through providing resources and training and implementing appreciation strategies
• Oversee all dealings in the kid’s program, including nursery, early childhood, elementary, and preteen classes
• Modify curriculum in a way that allows engagement utilizing our resources and class sizes
• Plan, organize, staff, and coordinate kid’s events including Jingle Jam, Kids on Stage, VBS, camps, and any other events for kids
• Collaborate with the Family Ministries Team to create, help with, or continue Child Dedications events, child baptisms, and parenting courses
• Develop, implement, or continue policies for the safety and security of children, including but not limited to effective use of check-in and check-out technology
• Plan and participate in parent/child dedication services and classes
• Supervise Children’s Ministry paid staff
• Facilitate the sharing of space, resources, and teaching materials by church and other ministries/departments and the daycare (daycare is not a ministry of New Hope but uses our building)
• Use effective modes of communication to keep families engaged and informed of current programs, projects, and opportunities
• Other related ministry duties as assigned

Qualifications

·     Must be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ

·     Must be willing to seek out and live the mission of New Hope

·     Must be at least 18

·     Must have a passion for ministry of people 0-5^th grade

·     Must have at least a High School Degree or GED

·     Preferred to be working on the Ordination Track of the Wesleyan Church, or hold a teaching or other relevant degree (not required)
